SPICES

Sri Lanka has a rich history in trading spices, dating back to the 14th Century and through the Roman period.  Spices sourced from the island include, cinnamon, pepper, betel, clove, cocoa, ginger, lemon grass, nutmeg and mace, vanilla and cardamom.
