GARMENTS

The export of textiles and apparel is one of Sri Lanka’s biggest industries, accounting for half of its exports and 15% of its employment. Sri Lanka’s major export market for garments is the US with many large international brands being produced in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is proving quickly that it is a fierce rival in the ethical manufacturing sector of textiles and garments and that it can compete with the EU market.
